Sangrur, January 16, 2021: School education and PWD minister Vijay Inder Singla, on Saturday, kick-started the Covid vaccination drive from District Civil Hospital in Sangrur district. The cabinet minister stayed in the observation room with SMO Dr. Baljeet Singh, who has been administered first dose in Sangrur district, and nine other healthcare workers as the gesture of encouragement.
. Vijay Inder Singla said that under the guidance of CM Capt. Amarinder Singh, Punjab government has ensured adequate arrangements to safeguard the people from Covid-19. He added that after the arrival of vaccine, frontline healthcare workers were being administered the dose on preference.
He said that in the first phase, district Sangrur has received 7,660 doses and 100 doses each would be administered at Civil Hospital Sangrur, Dhuri and Malerkotla. He said that till now as many as 7,693 frontline health workers have registered themselves on online portal to get the vaccine dose.
The cabinet minister informed that Punjab government will also include safai sewaks in the next phase to applaud their services during the pandemic.
He also presided over a function at district administrative complex where he allotted Ration depots and distributed 56 smart ration cards after attending state level virtual function.
