Assistance would be provided by volunteers on a single call on 88981-00004 within two hours: School education minister Singla
Sangrur, May 18:
Punjab School Education and PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla, on Tuesday, said that COVID war room has been operationalized and a Helpline Number has also been launched for 24-hour assistance of people amid Covid-19 pandemic under “Zimmewaar Sangrur” campaign. Mr. Singla said that people can reach out to the war-room by dialing 88981-00004 (the helpline number) & all the assistance would be provided by volunteers on a single call, within a time duration of two hours. He added that he would be monitoring the working of Covid War Room on daily basis and assured Sangrur residents that their government will ensure quality medical services despite severe wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
The cabinet minister said that through the helpline number people will be able to know about the availability of beds in hospitals, oxygen cylinders, concentrators and required medical and general assistance. He said that medicines prescribed by the doctors would also be provided to the patients, if they will be getting troubled to procure it from market in the name of shortage. He added that the helpline would also serve as a medium for other queries related to COVID.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that a Whatsapp chatbot feature is also available on the helpline number which would also respond to the queries of the people and provide an instant assistance.
The COVID war-room which was earlier launched by Vijay Inder Singla has also started to be in operation and admissions in the 100-bed facility would be started after the beds available in the hospitals will be fully equipped. The COVID war-room is a set up which would be crucial in providing a thorough assistance to the people when it comes to the availability of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, concentrators, plasma donation, vaccine and medicines.
The cabinet minister said that main objective of the helpline number is to help the people reach out to a credible source of information and provide them with proper health assistance.
“We would try to ensure a proper assistance to all the patients throughout 24 hours, with the helpline” said Vijay Inder Singhla, Punjab Education Minister. He also requested that the calls made to the helpline number must be most relevant to the COVID related requirements or emergency situations, so as the team is able to help the maximum number of people who are in dire need of the health assistance.
