Chandigarh, May 26
UT saw eight fatalities due to coronavirus on Wednesday besides recording 224 fresh cases of the infection during the past 24 hours. There are now 3573 active cases of the pandemic.
With this, the death toll in Chandigarh has risen to 722 while the caseload has increased to 59216.
According to a media bulletin issued by the Administration, those who succumbed to the infection were aged between 42 and 75 years. The new cases of the pandemic were reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 706 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
