Chandigarh, April 27
UT recorded as many as six deaths and 837 new cases of coronavirus as the surge in the infection continued unabated on Tuesday.
With this, the death toll has now risen to 446 while the caseload has risen 40350. The number of active cases has increased to 5,980.
According to a media bulletin issued here, a 90-year-old female died in PGI. The second death related to a 48-year-old male of Hallo Majra who breathed his last in GMCH-32.
A 60-year-old male of Mauli Jagran also passed away at GMCH-32. A 30-year-old male of Mauli Jagran died in PGI. A 74-year-old resident of Sector 40 died in PGI while a 55-year-old male of Mauli Jagran passed away in GMCH-32.
Fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 426 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
