Chandigarh, September 19
The Union Territory of Chandigarh reported six more deaths and as many as 290 fresh cases of coronavirus on Saturday. The death toll has now risen to 116 and the number of positive cases to 9796. There are 2911 active cases.
A medical bulletin issued by the Administration that a 58-year-old male, r/o Mauli Jagran, a known case of Diabetes Mellitus who had a hyperglycemic episode, tested COVID positive, expired at GMSH-16 on Friday. A 60-year-old female, r/o Sector 26, a case of Diabetes Mellitus and SARI, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Saturday. A 30-year-old male, r/o Manimajra, a case of SARI tested COVID positive, expired due to cardiopulmonary arrest at GMCH-32 on Saturday. A 47-year-old male, r/o Daddu Majra, a case of Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, tested COVID positive expired at PGIMER on Saturday. A 40-year-old male, r/o Sector 52, a case of septic shock and ARDS, tested COVID positive, expired at GMSH-16 on Saturday and a 54-year-old male, r/o Mauli Jagran, a case of ARDS, tested COVID positive expired due to cardiac arrest at GMSH-16 on Saturday.
The new cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 351patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
