Chandigarh, October 14
Two more persons succumbed to coronavirus in the city on Wednesday. The UT also recorded 72 fresh cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is 1085.
The death toll due to the infection in UT now stands at 199 while the number of infection cases has risen to 13,403.
According to a medical bulletin released here, a 65-year-old male R/o Ramdarbar, a case of Esophageal Cancer, who tested COVID positive, expired at GMCH 32 on Tuesday. A 54-year-old male R/o Ramdarbar, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive, also expired at GMCH 32 on Tuesday.
The fresh cases of the pandemic have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 112 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
