Chandigarh, December 22
Coronavirus claimed two more lives in UT on Tuesday. There were as many as 56 fresh cases of the infection during the past 24 hours. There are 364 active cases of the pandemic.
With this, the death toll has risen to 312 while the caseload has increased to 19,184.
According to a bulletin issued by the Administration, an 82-year-old COVID positive male R/o Mani Majra, a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection, has expired at GMCH 32. The second case relates to a 72-year-old COVID positive male R/o Sector 8, a case of Acute Kidney Injury and Hypertension has expired at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.
New cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 79 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
