Chandigarh, November 7
UT reported two more deaths and 98 fresh cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, indicating that the dip in cases of the pandemic may be temporary. With this, the death toll has risen 232 and the caseload has increased to 15,025. There are as many as 815 active cases.
The Administration has been repeatedly emphasising in recent days the need for the general public to take full precautions to prevent the spread of the infection. It apprehends that there may be a spike in corona cases during the festive season.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Administration, a 79 year old male R/o Sector 40, a case of Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Hypothyroidism, who tested COVID positive, has expired at Mayo Hospital, Mohali. In the second case, a 60 year old male R/o Sector 38, who tested COVID positive, expired at Max Hospital, Mohali.
New cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
· Meanwhile, a total of 53 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
