A good deed is something that does not live only for a moment, but it travels with time and brings some unforeseen surprises at opportune moments in future. These are the beliefs of Ludhiana-based professionals who are indulged into various professions and are giving away free services and cakes on Raksha Bandhan.
Meet two young brothers Karan Patyal and Arjun Patyal who are running a salon, namely ‘Style Inn’ near Barista, Model Town.
With no sister, the duo decided to give free hair cut to 11 poor girls this Raksha Bandhan as a gift to them. While sharing about the initiative, Karan said, “We have been doing such good deeds for 2-3 years on every Raksha Bandhan. Last year we distributed beauty products among the poor girls. Though we do not have any sister, but we know the importance of having a sister. So, this Raksha Bandhan, we will be giving free haircuts to at least 11 girls but on an appointment basis.”
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Arjun Patyal said, “Everyone has a right to look beautiful and elegant, so we have come forward with this initiative on the occasion for those needy girls who cannot afford such services but dream to get it. If our small initiative can make someone smile, then why to think? According to me, everyone should come forward to help needy people, so that they did not feel deprived.”
Just like Karan and Arjun, a Ludhiana-based website developer, Jaswant Singh who is running an IT company with the name, Solutions Queue, too think the same. The 24-year-old Singh who has no sister took the initiative to design free websites for those poor and needy girls who are enthusiastic and want to start their online business.
Jaswant Singh said, “I feel happy doing good deeds and every time on Raksha Bandhan, I take some initiative to help needy girls. This time, I will be designing 5 websites for girls who are desiring to start their online work.”
Singh further shared, “As most of the businesses are running remotely and online, I decided to do the website designing free for the girls who are talented and having an idea but cannot afford the digital platform. Meanwhile, I would appeal to the residents to help such a section of the society, especially girls so that their talent could see the light of day.”
Everything you can imagine is real. This is the belief of young Harsimrat Kaur who is 22 years old and runs a home bakery named Sugar Rush in Model Town. Working as a one-man army she said I always wanted to do something for society, especially for Police. So on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, I thought of making cupcakes and giving them for free to policemen who are working hard for the society.
Made near about 51 cupcakes, she gave 30 cupcakes to different policemen in different areas including Atam Nagar, Model Town, Dugri Road, and tied them Rakhi too for helping the society even in the condition of COVID -19. After that, she gave the 21 cupcakes to needy children in the Model Town area so that they can have the sweet joy and celebrate Raksha Bandhan by sharing it with their sisters.
