On Saturday, ten persons succumbed to Covid19 infection and 135 were tested positive for Corona virus in district Ludhiana.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 868 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 179 patients (135 new patients from district Ludhiana and 44 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 286688 samples have been taken, out of which report of 284711 samples have been received, of which 264062 samples were found negative while report of 1977 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 18333, while 2316 patients are related to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 15 patients lost their lives today (10 from Ludhiana, 2 from Moga while one each from districts Ferozepur, Fazilka and Haryana State). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 760 people from Ludhiana and 264 from other districts.
He informed that till date, 44240 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 3087. Today, 108 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 3688 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
