More than 3800 masks distributed by Mansa Police to curb COVID-19 spread: SSP Mansa appeals Public to help in Making the district COVID free
Mansa 09-08-2020-Mansa Police, in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic, has multiplied its efforts to curb the further spread of coronavirus in the district. The district Police, under the versatile leadership of Shri Surendra Lamba, IPS, SSP Mansa, is continuously adopting novel methods to make people aware regarding the importance of wearing mask, maintaining social distance and adopting a hygienic and healthy lifestyle. Mr. Lamba told press that under the Mission Fateh initiative of Punjab Government and the leadership of Sh. Dinkar Gupta, IPS, DGP Punajb, Mansa Police is conducting regular awareness drives in the district. These awareness drives include of regular announcements in public places by Police officials and distribution of masks by police parties manning the important nakas of the district.
Under the campaign of Mask distribution started on August, 8th across the district, Mansa Police has distributed more than 3800 mask to people not wearing mask. Apart from this, 298 challans with total amount of Rupees 1,49,000 was collected by police and 298 people were made to stand at the naka point for a while to make them understand the perils of not wearing a mask in public places. This effort of police is aimed at halting the spread of COVID-19 in the district.
SSP Mansa appealed to the general public that the only possible cure against COVID-19 so far is its prevention, and prevention of its spread can only be ensured by following all the precautions prescribed by the government from time to time. He further emphasised that it is the primary duty of every citizen as a member of the society to keep one and all safe from the spread of this disease. Wearing of mask in public places, maintaining distance of 6 feet, washing/sanitizing one’s hands regularly, staying at home unless in case of utmost emergency are the few precautions which can prove helpful in curtailing the spread of COVID-19, he further added. Police will provide all possible help to any person in need during this hour of crisis until the district is declared Corona-free.
