· Congress Ministers & MLAs corner SAD Patron for lending support to anti-farmer ordinances
· Sacrilege cases took place during ‘mis’rule of so called panthic SAD
Chandigarh, September 5:
The shameless statement given in support of the Union Government sponsored farm ordinances by the Badal family patriarch has exposed the so called farmer friendly face of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) which has all but faded away from the political landscape of Punjab.
Castigating the Ex Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the Congress leaders’ asked the SAD Patron to spell out his predicament which forced him to support the farm ordinances which have potential to sound death knell for the agrarian sector.
In a joint statement issued from the Party Headquarters, 5 Ministers namely S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Balbir Singh Sidhu, Aruna Chaudhary and Bharat Bhushan Ashu besides 6 MLAs Darshan Singh Brar, Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, Pritam Singh Kotbhai, Barindermeet Singh Pahra, Kulbir Singh Zira and Kuldeep Singh Vaid averred that the SAD stalwart, who till now in his 6 decades old political career has so vociferously claimed being the champion of the farmers’ causes, has stabbed the farming community in the back just for the sake of protecting the ministership of his Daughter-in-Law Harsimrat Kaur Badal. The Congress leaders also asked the SAD patriarch to lay bare his quandary which prompted him to commit such a shameful act which amounts to political hara-kiri.
Before pointing out fingers at the Captain Amarinder Singh led Government and Congress Party, the SAD Patron ought to have a sneek peak into his own acts of omission and commission, said the Congress leaders. They added that it was during the ‘Mis’rule of Parkash Singh Badal, who everyday harped boasted of making sacrifices, saw incidents of sacrilege taking place. Not only this, the innocent Sikh protestors, who were peacefully staging protest against the sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, were indiscriminately fired upon which pierced the heart of everyone already aghast at the sacrilege occurrences. The so called religious party tenure saw the drug trade flourishing the consequences of which had to be borne by the present dispensation.
The Congress ministers and MLAs also added that this is a brazen attempt by the ex CM to again prop up his party on the political map of Punjab and can very well be equated with crocodile’s deceiving tears. But the people of Punjab won’t be beguiled by these tactics now. The SAD is completely off the radar now on every front. The disappearance of ‘Birs’ right under the nose of the SAD controlled SGPC, is another black spot on the so called panthic party’s face.
