• Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora & Harjot Bains assure support to university administration in facilitating approvals for establishment of premier ‘varsity

With aim to empower the state’s youth with cutting-edge skills and entrepreneurial expertise to bridge the gap between education and the demands of industry, Punjab is all set to get a world-class university in Ludhiana, named after the legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Udham Singh. This esteemed institution will foster innovation, creativity and self-reliance and produce industry-ready graduates who can drive economic growth and development in Punjab.
The proclamation ceremony for the establishment of “Shaheed Udham Singh Skills Development & Entrepreneurship University” was attended today by Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister and State President AAP Mr. Aman Arora, Technical Education and Skill Development Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains and Incharge AAP Punjab Sh. Manish Sisodia.
The Shaheed Udham Singh Skills Development & Entrepreneurship University will be established on 50 acres of prime land donated by the Kamboj Community, with an estimated investment of Rs 500 crore. The state-of-the-art campus will be equipped with ultra-modern infrastructure, digital classrooms, Research centres, Innovation hubs and Incubation facilities. This university aims to provide students with the skills and resources needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven economy, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-oriented ventures.
The Punjab Cabinet Ministers, Mr. Aman Arora and S. Harjot Singh Bains, have highlighted the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government’s efforts to bridge the skill gap in industry demands. They assured that the university administration will be extended every possible support, while facilitating them with all necessary approvals for the establishment and operation of the university.
While addressing the gathering, Sh. Manish Sisodia emphasised that the Shaheed Udham Singh Skills Development & Entrepreneurship University marks a significant step in boosting Punjab government’s efforts in skill development and fostering economic growth. By focusing on practical skills and industry partnerships, the university is poised to produce employable graduates. Sh. Sisodia also praised the Kamboj community’s contribution to education, acknowledging their role in donating prime land for the university.
MLA Jalalabad Mr. Jagdeep Goldy Kamboj stated that the Shaheed Udham Singh Skills Development & Entrepreneurship University will transform Ludhiana into a hub for skill development and entrepreneurship, attracting students from India and abroad. For the Kamboj community, this project marks a historic milestone, reflecting their commitment to education, youth empowerment and honouring Shaheed Udham Singh’s legacy.
On this occasion, acknowledging the contribution of Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura towards education, skills and your empowerment, the Kamboj community declared him “Founder Chancellor” of this university in the presence of all the dignitaries.
Dr. Sandeep Singh Kaura highlighted the university’s focus would be on cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Robotics, Cybersecurity, and Advanced Entrepreneurship Programs.
The ceremony commenced with the blessings of Baba Brahm Das Ji (Dera Baba Bhuman Shah, Sirsa) having a following of millions in India and abroad. Eminent Kamboj Community Leaders from abroad also attended the event virtually and ensured their selfless commitment to the university project. The foundation event also witnessed the presence of MLA Dr. Jameel-ur-Rehman, Malkeet Thind (Chairman, Punjab State Backward Classes Commission), S.Balwinder Singh Jammu, President All India Journalist Association, Dr. Avtar Singh, Chairman Aman Group of Hospitals, Former Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Prof. Manjit Singh, Mr. Jasbir Singh Thind and many other prominent personalities of Kamboj Community.
