Amritsar, February 8, 2021: A high-level delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) would soon meet Uttarakhand Chief Minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat regarding the establishment of the historic Gurdwara Gian Godri Sahib at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
This was stated by the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur after a meeting of the sub-committee on Gurdwara Gian Godri Sahib at Amritsar on Monday.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “The sentiments of the sangat are connected with Gurdwara Gian Godri Sahib in the remembrance of Guru Nanak’s visit to Haridwar. Efforts are being made by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to re-establish the gurdwara at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. For this, a delegation of SGPC would be meeting the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.”
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that she would also be part of this delegation, along with the leaders of different Sikh sampradas (branches) including the president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that a letter is being written by the SGPC to take time for an interaction with the Uttarakhand CM. She said SGPC member from Kanshipur S. Harbhajan Singh Cheema has also been asked to take time from the CM so that further action could be taken as soon as possible.
