Chandigarh, April 30
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that today he delightfully shared the news of 158 government school students clearing JEE mains from Punjab with Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal was ecstatic to hear the news. He asked me to share his congratulations with the students and their teachers and parents. Mann said that it is the proof of the success of AAP’s education revolution.
A record 158 students from Punjab government schools have cleared the JEE Mains exam. 23 students from Mohali, 22 students of Jalandhar, 20 students from Ferozepur and 20 from Ludhiana passed the JEE mains exam. Mann said that revolutionary education reforms in Punjab lead to JEE mains triumph for 158 government school students.
Mann said that it is the first time that 158 students of government schools in Punjab have cleared this exam. It is the fruit of their government’s constant efforts of improving education’s quality level in government schools.
Education is an important agenda of the Aam Aadmi Party. Free and quality education is one of the guarantees of the AAP. First in Delhi and now in Punjab, the AAP government has done unprecedented and exceptional work in the field. The Mann government in Punjab opened 13 schools of eminence where students are taught with the help of modern technology and improved the government school system. The teachers are also regularly being sent to other countries like Singapore and to IIM for their training. Additionally, the Punjab government consistently arranges educational tours to prepare students for entrance exams.
PTM meetings were also another successful initiative of the Mann government where the gap between schools and parents was reduced. Last year alone about 9,000 students left private schools and got admission in government schools as they are getting world class education and modern facilities in government schools. 13 schools of eminence of the AAP government also got validation from parents as well as students, In session 2023-24 1,02,784 students got registered in schools of eminence. For the academic session of 2024-25, around 2,00,000 students got enrolled in the schools of eminence.
Government school students clearing competitive exams is a big success for the AAP government and for government schools in Punjab. The success of these students will inspire more parents and students. It is also a pat on the back of the Mann government.
