Speaker Lok Sabha Om Birla presides over the Programme
New Delhi- August 14- Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi, Mrs. Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, as representative of the state government, today planted sapling during a `Fruit Tree Plantation Programme` at Bharat ASEAN Maitri Park, Tughlak Crescent here. Representing their respective states the Resident Commissioners of other states also planted saplings during the event.
Speaker Lok Sabha Mr. Om Birla presided over the programme organised by the residents of Tughlak Road Crescent on the eve of Independence Day. According to organisers Bharat ASEAN Maitri Park, is the first Public Park in which the fruit Tree Plantation drive is being undertaken in the national capital.
Terming the initiative a valuable step towards environmental protection Mrs. Bhandari said that every organisation and individual should come forward for tree plantation and such initiatives so that we could be able to provide healthy and clean environment to the present and future generations.
Union Minister Arjun Munda, Parshottam Rupala and Gen. V.K.Singh Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Vipin Sanghi, Member Parliament Rajiv Pratap Rudy and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
