• Holds threadbare deliberations with District In-charges & field staff of Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training dept

In order to provide suitable jobs to the youth of the state, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr Aman Arora directed the department officials to reach out to industries to get familiarised with their job requirements so that youth could be trained according to their needs for creating maximum job opportunities for the youth.
Chairing a meeting with District In-charges of Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training department and field staff of Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) here at PEDA Complex, Mr. Aman Arora asked them to work proactively to further improve the placement rate of youth registered with the department. The conversion of registered youth into placement could only be improved by bridging the gap between skilled manpower and industry requirements in the state and special focus should be laid on this, he emphasised.
“High number of youth registration is not an achievement. I would consider it as a success after this registration turned into placement,” he said, terming generation of jobs as the most sacred and noble deed.
The Employment Generation Minister also listened to the suggestions of the Employment Generation & Training Officers and Block Mission Managers given during the meeting. He said that their valuable suggestions will help him to understand issues and demands at the grassroots level to further improve the functioning of the department.
Giving a presentation, Director Employment Generation and Skill Development and Training Ms Deepti Uppal apprised the Cabinet Minister that as many as 1,33,277 placements have been facilitated since April 2022, besides organising 2148 placement camps in the state.
Notably, Mr Aman Arora had interacted with representatives of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and other Industry Associations last week to get familiarise with the job requirements and other issues of the industry so that pool of skilled manpower could be developed for the industry sector.
