Takes stock of functioning in various branches
Exhorts employees to perform duty without fear or favour
Chandigarh, May 27:
The Public Works Minister, Punjab, Harbhajan Singh ETO conducted surprise checking at the offices of the department located at Sector-17, Chandigarh today. He visited all the branches of the Circle and Divisional Offices and checked the attendance of the staff.
The PWD Minister reviewed the functioning of the correspondence, accounting and drawing branches of the circle and divisional offices of the department. He also directed the staff and officers of these branches to complete their official work on time.
Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO also visited the offices of the Co-operation Department located in the same building.
The Minister sought information from the office bearers about the work being done by them. Emphasizing diligent and honest discharge of duty without any pressure, he said that public interest should be kept supreme while performing their duty.
The PWD Minister further said that the present government of Punjab is a government of the people. He called upon the employees and officials to ensure probity in their duties and cautioned that the Punjab Government has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
