Urges to efficiently discharge responsibility entrusted for ensuring public welfare
Chandigarh, 14 June:
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan urged the newly appointed chairpersons of various committees of the Legislative Assembly to effectively discharge responsibility entrusted upon them in order to instill confidence in the public for their well-being.
During the meeting with the chairpersons here at Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, the Speaker, while extending his best wishes, expressed hope that all committees would ensure the smooth conduct of affairs of the legislative assembly, enabling the accountability system to be more effective and transparent.
Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan stated that these committees play a significant role in resolving the issues of the public, thus regular meetings of the committees should be convened and participation of the chairpersons and members in the meetings should be ensured.
The Speaker also directed the staff members to extend maximum support to the chairpersons and members of the committees in terms of actively assisting in conducting meetings and familiarizing them with the procedure and conduct of functioning of the committees.
All the chairpersons assured that they would carry out the responsibilities of the committees in the right manner.
