Punjab also joins league, withdraws consent to CBI for investigation of cases
Chandigarh, November 9, 2020 : After many other opposition ruled state, Punjab has become latest entity to join the league by withdrawing consent given to Central Bureau of Investigation of investigation of cases.
According to sources, the Punjab Government has withdrawn its consent given under the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act 1946. Notification said that instead of general consent now prior consent of the Punjab Government on case to case basis.
Before Punjab, Jharkhan, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Maharastra and Kerala has withdrawn its consent for the CBI to investigate cases in the state.
