Tourism Minister issues instructions during inter-departmental meeting
Chandigarh, August 16:
In pursuit of showcasing Punjab on the global tourism map, preparations for the “Punjab Tourism Summit” are being conducted, for which Punjab Tourism Minister Ms. Anmol Gagan Maan today reviewed the arrangements during a high-level inter-departmental meeting at Punjab Bhawan.
The Cabinet Minister highlighted that the historical, cultural and culinary heritage of Punjab is very rich, which needs to be shared with people around the world. She noted that under the guidance of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is organizing the Punjab Tourism Summit for the first time to achieve this objective.
During the meeting, the Cabinet Minister stated that there are immense possibilities in the field of tourism in Punjab and efforts should be focused on collaborative initiatives to put Punjab on the tourism map. She asked the officials of various departments involved in the preparation of the summit to ensure that efforts should be directed towards enhancing Punjab’s presence on the global tourism map.
The officials were instructed to create attractive presentations during the summit to inform attendees about Punjab’s rich heritage and cultural legacy, aiming to raise awareness among the participants about the heritage and culture of Punjab. She said that technical sessions would also be conducted to showcase the potential investors about investment opportunities in Punjab and attract their attention towards the state during the summit.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Ms. Rakhi Gupta Bhandari, Secretary Tourism, Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi, Secretary, Information Director tourism Amrit Kaur and Public Relations, Mr. Bupinder Singh, Director, Information and Public Relations Department and other officials of various departments.
