– On Chief Minister’s instructions, Revenue Minister disbursed advance funds to DCs
Chandigarh, July 10:
Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa has released Rs 33.50 crore to all Deputy Commissioners to deal with the flood situation as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said that this amount has been given as advance fund to the deputy commissioners to deal with the possible threat flood situation and to mitigate the loss of human lives, houses and animals.
Jimpa said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has already announced that the Punjab government will help the affected people in every way in this difficult time. He said that as per the guidelines issued by the Chief Minister, the amount has been transfered in the accounts of the DCs. He said that Rs. 1.50 crore has been released to Amritsar, Rs. 1 crore each to Bathinda, Barnala and Faridkot, Rs. 1.50 crore each to Ferozepur and Fazilka and Rs. 1 crore to Fatehgarh Sahib.
Similarly, Rs. 1.50 crore for Gurdaspur, Rs. 1 crore for Hoshiarpur, Rs. 2 crore each for Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Ludhiana, Rs. 1.50 crore for Moga, Rs. 1 crore each for Mansa, Malerkotla and Pathankot, Rs. 2 crore for Patiala and Rs. 2.50 crore has been given to Rupnagar district.
The Revenue Minister further informed that Muktsar Sahib was given Rs. 2 crore, Rs. 1 crore each has been released to S.A.S. Nagar and SBS Nagar, Rs. 1.50 crore to Sangrur and Rs. 2 crore has been released to Tarn Taran.
Jimpa said that the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to ensure the relief amount should be credited to the concerned beneficiary’s Aadhaar linked bank account as per the direct benefit transfer method so that the relief amount cannot be misused. He assured the people of Punjab that the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is helping the people in all possible ways.
