Government school in Hoshiarpur district named after father of the constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: School education minister

Punjab school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Thursday, said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government has renamed 14 more schools of various districts after the names of martyrs, freedom fighters and other renowned personalities to mark the contribution and sacrifices made by the sons of soil. The cabinet minister said that the step to rename schools was a small token of gratitude to pay tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting for the country, welfare and progress of our nation.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that a school in Hoshiarpur district has also been named after the father of the constitution Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as Government Elementary School Binowal has been renamed as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Government Elementary School, Binowal. He said that another school, Government Senior Secondary School Binewal of Hoshiarpur district has been named after martyr Baldev Raj for his supreme sacrifice during Kargil war in 1999. He said that the school has been named as Shaheed Baldev Raj Government Senior Secondary School Binewal.
The cabinet minister informed that Government Primary School Pakho Kalan in district Barnala has been named as Shaheed Ranjit Singh Shaurya Chakra Vijeta Government Primary School Pakho Kalan, Government Middle School Machhrai Kalan of District Fatehgarh Sahib has been named as Shaheed Attar Singh Shaheed Jawahar Singh Government Middle School Machhrai Kalan, Government Primary School Veela Teja in District Gurdaspur has been named as Freedom Fighter Surain Singh Government Primary School Veela Teja and Government Middle School Barnala in district Mansa has been named Shaheed Gurmail Singh Government Middle School Barnala.
Mr. Singla said that named of Government High School Demru Khurad in District Moga has been changed as Shaheed Lakhvir Singh Government High School Demru Khurad, Government Model Senior Secondary Smart School Gharota District Pathankot has been named as Freedom Fighter Hans Raj Government Model Senior Secondary Smart School Gharota, Government Elementary Smart School Mardanheri in Patiala district has been named as Shaheed Salim Khan Government Elementary Smart School Mardanheri, Government High School Satauj District Sangrur has been named as Shaheed Hawaldaar Jagsir Singh Government High School Satauj, Government High School Dappar in SAS Nagar District has been named Shaheed Subedaar Balvir Singh Government High School Dappar and Government Elementary School Kalsian Khurad District Tarn Taran has been named Shaheed Mandeep Singh Government Elementary School Kalsian Khurad.
The minister said that two schools in Sri Mukatsar Sahib district have also been named after martyrs who laid down their lives while safeguarding the nation. He added that Government High School Gaggarh has been named as Shaheed Subedar Jaswant Singh Government High School Gaggarh and Government Senior Secondary School Chak Atari Sadarwala has been named as Shaheed Baldev Singh Government Senior Secondary School Chak Atari Sadarwala.
