Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur condemned the false news published in some newspapers, and said that these news are beyond facts. She said that the Punjab government has released an amount of Rs 110.83 crore as its share under the post-matric scholarship scheme on January 10. This amount has been passed from the treasury and has been deposited in the account of the department on January 27. The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to the welfare of Scheduled Caste students. She gave further information and said that instructions have been issued to the officials to make timely payment to the students under this scheme in the state.
