Fake BC certificate of an ETT teacher and fake SC certificate of Panch have been cancelled
DC Patiala and DPI (Elementary) have been instructed to take action

Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains dedicated to safeguarding the interests of the Scheduled Castes in the state. The state-level scrutiny committee, constituted at the government level, has rejected the fake Backward classes certificate of Jasvir Singh and the fake scheduled caste certificate of Panch Mithu Ram.
Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, explained that a complaint was filed by Balvir Singh against Jasvir Singh, alleging that he obtained a job as a ETT teacher in the education department with a fake Backward classes certificate.
Similarly, complaint was filed against Panch Mithu Ram by Pala Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Harneet Singh, stating that Mithu Ram is made a Scheduled Caste certificate despite belonging to the Rajput caste.
After investigations, it was found that Jasvir Singh came from Haryana, after marriage became a resident and made Backward Classes certificate. He cannot avail the benefit of a backward classes certificate in Punjab. Therefore, the decision has been made to cancel his certificate.
Similarly, Mithu Ram was found to belong to the Rajput caste, as per school records and statements of nambardars. Despite this, he had make a Scheduled Caste certificate. In the investigation due to absent of Mithu Ram, the decision has been made to cancel his Scheduled Caste certificate.
The Deputy Commissioner of Patiala has been ordered to cancel and confiscate the Backward Classes Certificate of Jasvir Singh and the Scheduled Caste Certificate of Mithu Ram. DPI (Elementary Education) has been instructed to withdraw the benefits obtained by Jasvir Singh based on the fake Backward classes certificate.
