Chandigarh, May 10:
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 50 lakh, along with a government job to the Next of Kin (NOK) of Havildar (Gnr) Amritpaul Singh 31 Field Regiment who laid down his life in the line of duty. The braveheart was on a patrol when he lost his balance and slipped into Siyom river Near Village Manigong, (Arunachal Pardesh) on April 8, 2021 and was found dead on May 7, 2021.
Extending his sympathies with the bereaved family of the brave soldier, Captain Amarinder Singh said that their utmost dedication to defend country’s unity and integrity, even putting their lives to risk would ever inspire their fellow soldiers to perform their duties with far more devotion and commitment.
Havildar (Gnr) Amritpaul Singh, hailed from Village Kheri in Sangrur district and is survived by his wife (NOK) Harmeet Kaur, a son Gursewak Singh aged 11 years, Father Balveer Singh, Mother Bhagwan Kaur and a brother Harvinder Singh.
The mortal remains of the martyr were consigned to the flames at his native village today.
