Patiala,January 21, 2021: Preneet Kaur MP from Patiala conveyed her condolences through a video call to the family members of farmer Dhanna Singh (65) of village Tungan in Nabha Sub Division who died of heart attack during the farmers’ struggle in Delhi.
Assuring all possible help to the family on behalf of the Punjab government, Mrs. Preneet Kaur said that she would soon visit the family personally.
Expressing sympathy with Gurdeep Kaur, wife of late farmer Dhanna Singh, the Lok Sabha member said that it was very unfortunate that the Union government was not listening to the legitimate demands of the farmers who had brought green revolution in the country.
She said that today the farmers of the country were forced to spend nights in trolleys during the bitter cold without caring for their legitimate demands and many farmers had sacrificed their lives in this struggle.
Mrs. Preneet Kaur said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had stood affirm by the farmers from the very beginning and would continue to support them till the meeting of their demands. She said that though human lives were of no value but the Punjab government still expressed its heartfelt sympathy to the farmers and pledged to provide an ex gratia of Rs. 5 lakh to the family of deceased.
