In alignment with the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to provide seamless online services to the people of Punjab, the state government has launched a dedicated portal for the Ashirwad Scheme. This initiative aims to streamline the application process, making it smoother, more transparent and accessible. With this new system, eligible families can apply for financial assistance directly from the comfort of their homes.
Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, emphasized the Punjab Government’s commitment to offering cutting-edge online services for Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections. Beneficiaries can submit their applications for the Ashirwad Scheme through the official portal: http://ashirwad.punjab.gov.in. The introduction of this online portal has further enhanced the efficiency and transparency of the scheme.
Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted that individuals from Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections can easily apply for financial assistance through the portal. The user-friendly interface is designed to simplify the application process, allowing applicants to easily upload necessary documents.
Cabinet Minister said that this portal ensures a completely contactless application process, eliminating the need for physical visits. It also provides an avenue for direct communication with beneficiaries. An application manager has been incorporated into the system to assist applicants in completing forms and addressing any issues through email or phone calls.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated that this initiative aligns with the Punjab Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting underprivileged communities. She urged eligible individual to take full advantage of the portal to ensure they benefit from the scheme.
Furthermore, the Cabinet Minister clarified that under the Ashirwad Scheme, the Punjab Government offers financial assistance of ₹51,000 for the marriage of daughters from low-income families.
She added that to qualify for the scheme, applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and belong to the Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes or Economically Weaker Sections. The total annual family income should be less than ₹32,790 and financial aid is available for up to two daughters per eligible family.
