-From Land Records to Driving Licences, Key Services Reach Patiala Homes
– Citizens can avail 440 services by calling 1076
Patiala, July 14:
To ensure easy access to government services, the Punjab Government has made 440 citizen-centric services from 26 departments services available through Doorstep Delivery, in addition to Service Centres. Patiala residents can now access these services from the comfort of their homes by simply calling the helpline number 1076, said Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav.
She informed that key services of the Revenue Department, such as inheritance transfer (virasat), mutation of registry, correction in Jamabandi, entry of reports, subscription request notifications, and downloading of digital land records, can now be accessed without visiting tehsil offices or patwaris. A total of 34 Revenue-related services are available either at 42 Service Centres across the district or through doorstep delivery at home.
Regarding the Transport Department, citizens can now apply for learner’s licences, request changes in name, address, or date of birth on their licences, and get duplicate copies of learner or driving licences. Other services include renewal of driving licences without a test, licence transfer, public service vehicle badge issuance, conductor licence renewal, extension of learner’s licence validity, retrieval of licence details, and removal of vehicle categories from a licence.
In addition, services related to the Registration Certificate (RC) are also home-deliverable. These include applications for duplicate RCs, requests for NOC (No Objection Certificates), address changes, payment of applicable fees to view RC details, transfer of vehicle ownership (non-commercial), payment of lifetime road tax, endorsement of hire purchase agreements, updating of mobile numbers, and issuance of vehicle fitness certificates, including those for commercial vehicles.
Dr. Preeti Yadav appealed to residents to take full advantage of the 1076 helpline to access these essential public services conveniently from home. She emphasized that this initiative not only enhances administrative efficiency but also saves valuable time for citizens by reducing the need to visit government offices physically.
