Patiala ,September 30.The dreaded Novel Corona Virus disease ‘s infection spread seemed to be under control on Monday as it took just one life in Patiala district on Wednesday taking total deaths total to 321 and on the other hand 96 new positive cases also reported taking total Corona patients to 11,565.Meanwhile, 136 more Corona patients today discharged from various Covid care centers after duly curing from thd disease and sent to their homes thus total number of cured patients touched to 9,975. Whereas total number of active cases also touched to 1,269.The Civil Surgeon, Dr. Harish Malhotra while providing details about the same here on Wednesday stated that only one death was reported today with a 50 years old person belonged to Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Patran got admitted in the government Rajindra hospital here with acute problem of breathing and under treatment but as got Corona infection so failed to survive and lost battle of life. He added that the deceased was got cremated strictly under the new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government.Dr. Malhotra said that today results of 2,300 samples were received out of which 96 found new positive cases out of these six cases came from contact tracing of earlier positive cases and 90 from containment zone areas and OPD’s with Flu Symptoms and their shifting to Covid care centers and isolation facility is under progress besides contact tracing and sanitization of respective areas also underway as per new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government.While providing break up of new 96 positive cases ,he told that 61 came from Patiala, 2 from Samana, 6 from Rajpura, 9 from block Bhadson, 6 from Nabha, 4 from block Kauli, 3 from block Kallo Majra, 4 from block Dudhan Sadhan and one from block Shutrana.He added that today after watching and assessing the over all situation and no receiving of any positive case department has decided to remove the micro-containment zone restriction from the residential areas of a taxtial factory near village Chohunt on Patiala-Samana road after this now total number of containment and micro- containment zone restrictions imposed in the district reduced to just three.He said that today teams of the department have collected a total of 2,200 samples and sent these into Lab for testing and on the other hand reports of 1,350 samples are still pending.The Civil Surgeon added that the department has decided to take samples from procurement centers in the district in view of the start of Paddy procurement season with an aim to further curtail spread of Corona and urged the people to come forward to provide their samples to defeat the spread of COVID-19.
