Chandigarh, August 19
UT recorded one more death and 214 new cases of coronavirus on Friday. There are now 1597 active cases of the infection.
The death toll in Chandigarh has now risen to 260 while the caseload has increased to 24,017.
According to a media bulletin issued here by the Administration, a 75-year-old COVID positive female r/o Sector 41, a case of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection, expired at Ivy Hospital, Mohali. New cases of infection have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages around it.
Meanwhile, a total of 82 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
