Chandigarh, February 20:
For the uninterrupted supply of potable water and waste disposal in Punjab villages and to strengthen the department of Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) at grass root level, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa has informed that 35 newly recruited junior engineers (JEs) would get appointment letters on Feburary 21. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will give appointment letters to these newly appointed JEs.
He further said that the Punjab Government under the dynamic leadership of CM Bhagwant Mann is committed to provide all kinds of facilities to the state villages. To fulfill this commitment, many projects are under progress. He said that with this recruitment the completion of projects would be on time and it will also be easier to provide better facilities to the citizens. Jimpa said that in September 2022, junior draftsmen were also recruited in the department.
WSS Minister said that to prevent the youth of Punjab from going abroad, CM Bhagwant Mann had announced very first day on taking over that better employment opportunities would be created in the state and vacant government posts would be filled and this promise has been fulfilled by giving approximately 27,000 government jobs so far, Jimpa added.
WSS Principal Secretary D.K. Tiwari and HoD Mohammad Ishfaq said that all the preparations have been completed for giving appointment letters to JEs. With the recruitment of new JEs, the department will be strengthened and it would be easier to provide better services and facilities to the people.
