CHANDIGARH, JANUARY 6: Punjab Mandi Board Chairman and former finance minister Sardar Lal Singh has categorically said that like in past, Punjab Mandi Board under leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh will not allow sale of state outside paddy in the state in future under any circumstances in future as well.

Taking a tough stand on AAP and SAD designs in collaboration with centre to scuttle farmers protest, Lal Singh said that Captain Amarinder Singh government has always fought to preserve farmer rights and aspirations adding that state government would never allow these draconian laws to be implemented in Punjab at any cost.

Training his guns on PM who has spoken 72 times during his Maan ki Baat, Lal Singh said that in a democracy it is the duty of PM to listen to his people and not act arrogantly. He said that PM has left behind even Hitler adding that it was sad and tragic that our farmers had to brave harshest cold weather in Delhi to raise voice for their genuine concerns. He appealed to PM to show empathy towards our farmers to leave his egoistical stand and repeal these laws at the earliest.

Giving a call to all political parties to abstain from petty politics and instead come together on this sensitive issue, Lal Singh pointed out with all MLAs except of BJP coming together in favour of resolution under the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh ‘s leadership against Modi’s black laws, the support for farmer protests had gained more strength. He however said that opposition parties indulging in politics within hours had impacted farmers faith in political class for their cause. This, he said, led to farmers maintaining a distance from all political parties.

He said farmers patience and peaceful protests have resonated their voice for their rights across globe. He said Modi regime in collusion with media is trying to derail the protests. Lal Singh said that during this time it is responsibility of all political parties to be united against any such attempt by centre.

Lal Singh said that we all know that no political leader of Punjab, no matter which party he belongs to, can never think against farmers and laborers so it is important that we put aside our political affiliations. Let’s work towards repealing these black laws for now keeping our political differences aside until these black laws are repealed. He said that people of Punjab are sensible and they would outrightly reject all those trying to play politics on this sensitive issue.
