• Construction of ₹8-crore academic block with 7 labs & 7 rooms also begins

Chandigarh/ Nangal, September 21:
Fulfilling a long-pending demand of Nangal residents, Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains on Monday performed the “Bhumi Pujan” to kick off the construction of an ultra-modern 500-seat auditorium at a cost of ₹11 crore at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar School of Eminence, Nangal.
Simultaneously, S. Bains also kick-started the construction of a new block at the school at a cost of ₹8 crore. The block will house seven ultra-modern laboratories and seven new rooms.
Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister said Nangal had so far lacked a modern auditorium where residents, educational institutions and other organisations could hold their events and programmes. This ultra-modern auditorium named after Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, will not only be a major gift to the school but also fulfil a long-pending demand of the residents of Nangal, he added.
“The 500-seat auditorium, in which a wide range of cultural events, seminars and other programmes can be held, will provide students with a much bigger platform to showcase their talent,” S. Bains stated.
The Education Minister said the new block was another major step towards providing better facilities for modern education. With seven ultra-modern labs and seven new rooms, it will further strengthen the school’s infrastructure and create a better environment for practical learning alongside academics, he added.
Harjot Singh Bains said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government has been consistently striving to equip government schools with modern facilities and provide world-class education to students. Schools of Eminence are part of this vision, where students are provided quality education along with facilities for sports, cultural activities, laboratories and more.
He further shared that several big projects had been initiated for the development of Nangal in recent times and the pace of development works would be further accelerated in the coming days to meet the city’s basic needs. “Making Nangal a better and more beautiful city equipped with modern facilities is my top priority,” S. Bains stated.
