Mohali, August 6: Mohali district witnessed the highest-ever increase of 47 new coronavirus cases in a day taking the tally to 1,098.
Meanwhile, 11 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
Most of the cases have surfaced from Kharar, Dera Bassi, Zirakpur, Nayagaon and Mohali.
Civil Surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said all the patients had been admitted to the Covid care centre at Gian Sagar Hospital in Banur.
Till date there have been 1,098 coronavirus positive cases in the district of which 600 have been cured and discharged from the hospital. There are 481 active cases with 17 deaths in the district.
