BIKRAMJIT SINGH BRAR FROM PUNJAB
DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar is the only officer from Punjab who figures in the list.
A ‘dabang’ and daredevil police officer, who came into the lime light as a member of the team which killed known gangster and Nabha Jailbreak mastermind Vicky Gounder, Brar was hailed as the real hero of the operation as he was the first to enter Gounder’s hideout. Gounder was killed on 25 January, 2018 in Sriganganagar, situated on the border of Punjab & Haryana.
Posted as Rajpura CIA in-charge, Brar, who was an Inspector then, due to operational skills and integrity, is counted among the blue-eyed ‘boys’ of senior Punjab Police officials.
Son of a police officer who was gunned down by militants during Punjab’s dark terrorism days, Brar is credited with arresting most of the gangsters who planned the Nabha jailbreak. A YPS Patiala passout, he is a tech-savvy officer who like staying up-to-date.
Brar was promoted as a DSP in 2018.(Agency)
