Under special drive against drugs, 127 persons including peddlers, habitual offenders, Bail-outs, Parolees of drug related offences called and their activists verified at various police stations throughout District Mansa.

Mansa, February 28, 2021-Sh. Surendra Lamba, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mansa, briefed the press that under the guidance of Hon’ble Director General of Police, Punjab and Inspector General of Police, Bathinda Range, Bathinda, a special Anti Drug Campaign has been started in the district from 25-02-2021 to 03-03-2021 to curb drug menace. Under this campaign, all the Gazetted Officers, SHO’s, CIA Incharge and Anti Narcotic Cell in the district have been directed to create awareness about the ill effect of drugs to build a healthy, drug free society. Focus is being given to ensure maximum seizure of illicit drug including raids/search of suspected places and suspicious persons.
A close watch is being kept on the convicts involved in commercial quantity cases. The activities of bail-out persons and paroles of drug related offences are being verified and monitored on are daily basis. In light of above directions, Mansa Police called 127 persons involved in various drug related cases including drug peddlers, bail out, parole, habitual offender and other suspected persons verified the activities and necessary action would be taken in light of the above said verifications. Mansa Police is committed to ensure zero tolerance towards anti-social elements dealing in drugs.
Apart from above, under the special campaign against drug, today Mansa police organized 13 anti drug awareness seminars at the various places throughout the district while maintaining COVID-19 related precautions. In these Seminars, the public in various villages, towns and localities is being educated about the ill effect of drugs including physical, psychological and economic consequences of using drugs. Additionally, the young generation is being encouraged to focus on education and sports and to stay away from drugs to create a healthy society. SSP Mansa has urged citizens of Mansa to extend their full co-operation to the Mansa Police in it drive against drugs and has encouraged public to freely share credible information with the police against anti social elements involved in drug trafficking. Drug addicts to which quit drugs are being motivated to come forth, so that assistance can be given to, rehabilitate them. Mansa police is committed to fight against drug menace.
