CABINET MINISTER HOLDS DELIBERATIONS WITH SENIOR OFFICIALS OF FINANCE AND PERSONNEL DEPARTMENTS

Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led government is making concerted efforts to regularize contract employees working in PUNBUS and convert outsourced employees to contractual positions.
Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, during the meeting here at the Punjab Civil Secretariat today, instructed officials of the Finance and Personnel departments to prepare cases with empathy for both categories of employees i.e. contract and outsourced workers and formulate proposals in their favour.
During the deliberations, S. Bhullar stressed the urgent need to regularize contract and outsourced employees, stating that these workers should be granted their rightful due through a transparent and fair process.
S. Bhullar said that the Mann government is committed to earnestly addressing various demands periodically raised by employee unions. He said that contract and outsourced employees are invaluable assets to the Transport Department and the government will remain steadfastly committed to safeguarding their rights.
S. Bhullar further added that the Punjab Government is continuously making effective decisions for employee welfare and will continue to work with the same dedication and responsibility in the coming days.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Transport Secretary Varun Roojam, State Transport Commissioner Jaspreet Singh, Director State Transport Rajiv Gupta, Special Secretary Personnel Upkar Singh, Deputy Secretary Finance Jatinder Kumar and other senior officials of the Transport Department.
