Ludhiana-11 more succumb to Covid19 infection, 152 tested positive today

Ludhiana 24 Aug-There is not let up in deaths due to Covid19 infection in district. In last 24 hours, 11 persons have succumbed to infection and 152 were tested positive.  However the figures of positive patients were less as compared to previous days but the number of deaths were increasing every day. Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga informed that  there are 2054 active patients in the district at present. He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid 19. He said that 152 new patients have tested positive in last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 106997 samples have been taken, out of which report of 99708 samples has been received, of 89979 samples is negative and report of 7289 samples is pending. He said that 8831 persons have tested positive for Covid19 and 6451 were recovered.He said that unfortunately 11 people have died due to infections and till now 323 have lost their life.  He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Civil Surgeon appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
