Who doesn’t want to have a perfect smile? But we sometimes ignore our oral Health and overlook our dental needs.
Here are some common treatments that can enhance your smile. Teeth whitening- Also known as teeth bleaching. This cosmetic treatment removes stains and discoloration from the teeth.
In this procedure, a peroxide based material (bleach) is used to whiten the teeth. It is one of the most effective procedures for treating stained and discolored teeth. Invisalign- As the name suggests, it refers to totally invisible braces. It can be the treatment option for individuals who have mild to moderate misalignment of teeth.
These invisible braces are actually clear plastic aligner trays used to move teeth in proper alignment gradually. White (Composite) Fillings- A hole or a cavity (caused by dental decay) is repaired with help of adhesive composite resin filling that imitates the colour of the tooth.
Porcelain VeneersVeneers are thin layers of porcelain that are applied to the front surface of the teeth. Veneers are an ideal treatment for people with heavy stains and tooth discoloration. They are also used to fix gaps and can also be fitted over slightly crooked teeth to make them look straight. Dental bonding- This involves applying tooth colored filling material to the tooth’s surface. It provides some advantages over veneers such as changing the shape, size and color of the tooth. It is used to correct small chips, fractures as well to coat discolored teeth. This is a non-invasive procedure.
Root Canal (the endodontic treatment) – It involves removing the tooth’s pulp ( tissue responsible for tooth’s vitality) which has diseased and cleaning, shaping and filling of the tooth to make it functional again.
Crowns- A damaged tooth is covered with Crowns to strengthen the damaged tooth and to improve the tooth’s shape, appearance and alignment. Dental bridges- Also known as fixed partial denture.
This procedure is recommended for people with one or more missing teeth. In place of the missing teeth, a fixed partial denture is placed which is connected by crowning adjacent teeth.
Dental implants- With the latest developments in the fields of dentistry, dental implants are an excellent treatment for the replacement of missing teeth. A dental implant works as a tooth root to support a replacement tooth, denture or bridge of the jaw. They perform all the functions of natural teeth.
They grind food, stimulate the jaw and make a person’s smile beautiful and gap free. Gum Contouring- A person who has a gummy smile, uneven gums or receding gums should consider this treatment option. A cosmetic dentist reshapes the gums using a soft tissue laser to carefully remove the parts of the gum that makes a person’s teeth look short or uneven. Dentures- Dentures can completely change the way a person looks and feels. That’s because they basically replace the full sets of teeth.
They are meant for people who have lost several or all of their teeth. Good pair of dentures can look similar to natural teeth and make speaking and chewing much more pleasant.
