Jalandhar, January 10, 2021: Jalandhar Commissionerate Police today successfully averted any clash between the BJP leaders and farmers in the city by ensuring foolproof security arrangements in the city.
Keeping in view the proposed visit of the state BJP chief Ashwani Sharma in the city, the farmers had proposed to stage a protest against the BJP leader as a mark of protest against the anti-farm laws passed by the Modi government at the centre. In order to avert any sort of violent clash between the farmers and BJP leaders, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police had made elaborate security arrangements. Sufficient number of Police was deployed around the venue of the BJP.
Apart from stringent barricading senior Police officers were deployed at all the strategic locations. Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar himself remained on the forefront to ensure that the protest remain peaceful without any sort of violence. Without any use of force the Police managed to keep the farmers away from the venue of BJP’S event thereby averting any type of scuffle between both the groups.
Though the challenge was big and pacifying the agitating farmers was a Herculean task, as they were adamant to reach the venue of function and stop the BJP leaders for holding the function. But led by Commissioner of Police the Police defused the entire situation to ensure that law and order was maintained at all costs.
