Chandigarh, August 29
Punjab Food and Civil Supplies Minister Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu today asked the Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana to inquire matter pertaining to recovery of ration bags, sent for distribution to the needy found during Corona pandemic, from a school of councilor at Ludhiana city.
He also directed the DC, Ludhiana to submit a report to him within two days.
Mr. Ashu said that any irregularities in distribution of rations sent for the needy would not be tolerated. He said that if any scam was detected in the ration distribution than guilty, however affluent he may be, would not be spared.
Food Minister said that the under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh Punjab Government is committed to provide rations to every needy family in a transparent manner. He said that the Food and Civil Supplies Department had taken many steps to provide rations to the people of the state in a transparent manner and smart cards are being issued soon so that there was no possibility of any scam in the distribution of rations.
Meanwhile immediately swinging into action, the Deputy Commissioner took immediate action in this regard and constituted a three member inquiry committee comprising Sub Divisional Magistrate Ludhiana East, District Food and Supply Controller Ludhiana East and District Food and Supply Controller Ludhiana West and directed to submit the report within 24 hours.
