IG Patiala range, Jatinder Singh Aulakh along with SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal handed over checks of Rs. 10 Lakh each to the families of two CORONA Frontline Warriors of Police who had lost their lives to COVID in previous days.
Expressing solidarity with the families of the deceased ASI Joginder Singh and Home Guard Jawan Darshan Singh, both the key officers, said that though the loss of their family members could not be compensated but the Punjab Police always stood with them in case of any need.
Mr. Aulakh said that ASI Joginder Singh, was working as a telephone operator at his camp office and was admitted to a private hospital in Patiala on September 14 due to fever. However, due to ill health and increasing chest pain, he was referred to PGI Chandigarh on September 17, where he died on September 19 after losing a fight against Corona during treatment.
Home Guard Jawan Darshan Singh was on duty at Ghagga Police Station. He was admitted to Government Rajindra Hospital on September 14 due to ill health where he passed away on September 16.
Mr. Aulakh said that we have constituted the ‘ Police Ekta Welfare Fund’ where every police personnel poured his contribution for the help of the family members, in case of fatality or other emergent situation. Mr. Aulakh cautioned the officers and staff of Patiala police to take more precautions on duty during the Corona epidemic and to take care of their own health and that of their family as well. SSP Mr. Vikram Jeet Duggal said that Patiala Police was diligently performing its duty day and night in Corona pandemic and was also working tirelessly to keep the district crime free as per its commitment.
