CHANDIGARH, July 7:
To celebrate Sri Guru Ravidass Ji’s 650th Prakash Purab, Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is taking the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji to every village through mobile LED vans, said Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Minister of Tourism & Culture Affairs Punjab.
Sharing the details of year-long celebrations, Mr. Sond said that a 30-minute documentary film is being screened in over 13000 villages to spread Sri Guru Ravidass Ji’s message of equality and devotion.
The Tourism minister said that the goal is to celebrate this historic occasion on a scale that reflects Guru Ravidass Ji’s profound impact on society. Meanwhile, soon four Shobha Yatras from Varanasi, Faridkot, Jammu and Bathinda will converge at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, while Tirath Yatras will enable devotees from across Punjab to pay obeisance at His Janam Asthan in Varanasi.
To ensure that Guru Ji’s philosophy reaches the younger generation in a meaningful manner, seminars on the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji will also be organised in schools, colleges and universities across the state.
Marking the 650th Prakash Purab, Punjab will plant 6.5 lakh saplings in each district, Mr. Sond said, linking the drive to Guru Ravidass Ji’s environmental teachings. Blood donation camps, marathons, cycle rallies and Kirtan Samagams will also be held across the state during the year-long commemorations.
