Mayor Sarabjit Singh Extends Financial Support of ₹21,000 to the Association; Athletes and Coaches Honoured

The District Athletics Association Mohali today organized the grand closing ceremony of its 12th Summer Camp at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nature Park, Mohali.
The summer camp was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Senior Coach Mr. Swaran Singh, President of Athletics Association Mohali Mr. Malkiat Singh, Coach Mr. Gurinder Singh Dhesi, Dr. Harinderjit Singh, Sports Authority of India Coach Mr. Harkanwal Singh, and Coach Ms. Mandeep Kaur.
The newly elected Mayor of Mohali Municipal Corporation, Mr. Sarabjit Singh, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he encouraged children to actively participate in sports, stay away from drugs, respect their parents, and bring laurels to Punjab and the nation at national and international levels.
On this occasion, certificates were awarded to children who maintained more than 90 percent attendance during the camp, while participants who excelled in various sports competitions were honoured with medals. Athletes who brought recognition to the Association at district, state, and national levels were also specially felicitated.
Appreciating the Association’s efforts in promoting sports and nurturing young athletes, Chief Guest Mr. Sarabjit Singh presented a cash grant of ₹21,000 to the District Athletics Association. He assured continued support in the future to encourage sports and assist athletes in every possible way.
Senior Deputy Mayor Mr. R.P. Sharma, Deputy Mayor Mr. Harpal Singh Channa, Municipal Councillor Mr. Satvir Singh Dhanoa, and Mr. Balwinder Singh Mianpur also addressed the gathering and motivated children to excel in sports.
Welcoming the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, Association Secretary Mr. S.A.S. Kaura shared detailed information about the Association’s achievements and activities. On this occasion, the Association also submitted a memorandum of demands to the Mayor, who assured prompt and positive action on the issues raised.
Mr. Paramdeep Singh Baidwan highlighted the remarkable achievements accomplished by the Association over the years.
The coaches who trained the children during the summer camp were honoured by parents in recognition of their valuable contribution to the development of young athletes.
Among those present were Mr. Narpinder Singh Rangi (MC), Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur (MC), Mr. Gurjit Singh (MC, Matour), Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur (MC), Mr. Parmjit Singh Kahlon, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bariali, Mr. Ram Kumar, Mr. Simranjit Singh Sihonmajra, Mr. Sandeep Singh Sandhu, Mr. Ajit Singh, Mr. Prabhjot Singh Johnny, Mr. Rajan Puri, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Mr. Kulwinder Singh, Mr. Narendra Singh, Mr. Sukhjit Singh, Mr. Surjit Singh, Mr. Amandeep Singh, Mr. Hari Om, along with other committee members.
The proceedings of the programme were jointly conducted by Mr. Ram Kumar, Mr. Sandeep Singh Sandhu, and Mr. Paramdeep Singh Baidwan.
