School Education Minister gives assent following receiving case from CM Captain Amarinder Singh

School Education minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Friday, said that the education department has decided to rename Government Elementary School Poohla in Bathinda district after the name of martyr Hazoora Singh Babeka to give due respect to his valiant spirit. The cabinet minister said that the school has been renamed as Shaheed Hazoora Singh Babeka Government Elementary School Poohla.
Mr. Singla said that following the directions of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the School education department has renamed the school after adopting due process and getting clearances from various departments including Deputy Commissioner Bathinda. He added that Shaheed Hazoora Singh sacrificed his life during the Burma War and was awarded with ‘The Burma Star’ for his services.
It is pertinent to mention that in 2019, Shaheed Hazoora Singh Babeka’s nephew has sent a request to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to rename the schools of Poohla village after the name of his uncle for his gallant bravery and services for the nation.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government will always be indebted to the great revolutionaries, who laid their lives for independence of the country. He added that apart from providing quality education in government schools, it was also their priority to rename the schools in the name of martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation.
