The Fifth Tri Services Veterans Day was celebrated by Golden Arrow Division on 14 Jan 2021, amidst strict COVID-19 precautions. Serving Officers, JCOs and Jawans of Ferozepur Garrison and Veterans of all three services participated in the event.
The events commenced with paying homage to the martyrs and wreaths were laid by the senior Veterans viz Col Kashmir Singh (Retired), Shri (Ex Maj) Gurpal Singh Chahal, District Collector, Ferozepur and Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, General Officer Commanding Golden Arrow Division at the Barki War Memorial.
The General Officer Commanding Golden Arrow Division, in his address to the Veterans, highlighted the saga of courage and sacrifice of Veterans. He reiterated that the tri services are always ready to face any challenges, whenever called for by the nation.
The Veterans are a source of inspiration to the present generation and the occasion marks our continued efforts to meet the aspirations of the Veterans and acknowledge their yeoman contribution to the services in general and the Nation in particular.
Besides honouring the Veterans during the event at the Barki War Memorial, Ferozepur, interaction was held to garner information of their well being. The Veterans were also honoured in ECHS Polyclinics under Golden Arrow Division and were briefed on veteran centric initiatives and welfare measures.
The General Officer Commanding extended his gratitude to all Veterans for their attendance.
