Deputy Commissioner Instructs the officers to send the Girdavari report within a week

While issuing the instruction to the officials to complete the girdavari work of the crop damage due to heavy rain in SAS Nagar district within a week, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain has asked the officers to submit the report in this regard within a week.
Giving the information about the ongoing Girdavari in the district, the Deputy Commissioner said that the work of Special Girdavari has been asked to be completed by April 7 and all work is being done under the supervision of the SDMs of the district. SDMs can be contracted for any complaint, she added.
Ms. Aashika Jain said that the Punjab government has written to conduct a special Girdavari regarding the damage caused due to heavy rain and hailstorm during the last few days.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during this special Girdavari, instructions aregiven to Patwaris to ensure to takes a GEO Tagged photo by standing at the damaged place through the GPS Map Camera Mobile App. The concerned Patwari has instructed to submit the complete record of this Girdavari to the District Revenue Officer by attaching the GEO Tagged photographs of the damaged fields. She said that the government will give compensation up to 5 acres of land per owner for damaged crops.
The compensation amount will be given to the cultivator instead of the farm owner as the loss of crops affects the cultivators very badly. Therefore, it is also directed to mention the cultivators name in the special Khasra Girdavari record to pay the compensation. Cultivators whose name will be mentioned in the special Khasra Girdavari record will not have any ownership rights in the said land in future.
While emphasizing the best coordination in all the officials during the said work Ms. Ashika Jain said that all the SDMs of the district have been asked to jointly complete the special Girdavari work within a week and send a report in time.
