UT reported five more deaths and 155 fresh cases of coronavirus on Friday, taking the death toll 169 and caseload to 12,212. The figure includes 1881 active cases of the infection.
According to a medical bulletin, a 38-year-old female R/o Sector 27, a case of Diabetes and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive, has expired at Sohana Hospital, Mohali on Thursday. A 61-year-old female R/o Manimajra, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive, has expired at GMCH-32 on Thursday. An 85-year-old male R/o Sector 35, a case of Acute Lung Injury, Hypertension and SARI, who tested COVID positive, has expired at Fortis Hospital, Mohali last week. A 54-year-old male R/o Sarangpur, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, who tested COVID positive, has expired at GMCH-32 on Thursday. A 74 year old male R/o Sector 51, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and ARDS, who tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Friday.
Meanwhile, a total of 153 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
