Chandigarh, September 29
UT reported five more deaths and 138 fresh cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours. With this, the death toll has risen to 158 and the number of infection cases to 11,816. The figure includes 2060 active cases.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the Administration, a 92-year old male r/o Sector 18, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Old Cerebrovascular accident and Encephalopathy, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Monday. An 80-year old female r/o Sector 40, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Diabetic Ketoacidosis, tested COVID positive, expired at GMCH 32 on Tuesday. A 43-year-old male r/o Khajeri, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease, tested COVID positive, expired at PGIMER on Tuesday. A 75-year-old male, r/o Bapudham colony, Sector 26, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension, tested COVID positive expired at GMCH-32 on Monday. A 45-year-old male r/o Ramdarbar, a case of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, tested COVID positive, has expired at Sector 48 Hospital on Monday.
Fresh cases of coronavirus have been reported from different parts of the city and the villages surrounding it.
Meanwhile, a total of 273 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
